With the exhibition « Une île à l'étranger » (« An island abroad ») by Abel Barroso, Clément Foundation offers a new window on the cultural heritage of the Caribbean. Discover this exhibition and rent a car to see all the beauty of Martinique.
For more than 25 years, Clément Foundation works to protect and to promote the cultural and architectural heritage of the Caribbean and Indian Ocean. From this perspective, the foundation recently revealed its new exhibition : "An island abroad " by Abel Barroso, Cuban visual artist.
Developed in a fun, almost absurd style, the various parts of the exhibition (drawings, engravings, sculptures) aim at making the spectators think. Abel Barroso's work "suggest a critical vision of the accumulation of the world wealth and the relations between the developed countries and the Third World", the Clément Foundation explains on its website.
"An island abroad" is set up from January 30th till March 8th of this year, at the « Case à Léo » (in the Clément House). A Discovery Day is also planned on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015, at 10am. It will be hosted by Sophie Ravion d'Ingianni, curator of the exhibition and art critic.
